Aitour Electric Cargo Bikes and Trikes - Made for Everyday Use and Family Trips
Aitour is a brand that was born out of a love of cycling and a desire to make electric cargo bikes and trikes that make everyday trips safer, easier, and more fun. Aitour models are great for families, seniors, and people who live in cities. They make it easy to carry kids, groceries, or other things you need, and they are eco-friendly and work well in the real world.
All Aitour bikes have powerful mid-drive or rear-hub motors rated at 250W and long-range batteries that let you ride up to 65 kilometres or more on a single charge, depending on the load and terrain. Many models are built to last, with strong frames, hydraulic disc brakes, torque sensing motors, and cargo boxes that are marine grade and can withstand weather and wear. Aitour is a good choice for families because it comes with or has the option to add features like seat belts, child benches, all-weather canopies, and a lot of storage space.
Aitour is also known for its good parts and low prices. The brand works with well-known parts suppliers, gives a two-year warranty on the motor and battery, and ships bikes that are fully assembled and legal to ride on the road in the UK. Aitour is growing quickly, having sold more than 12,000 bikes in the UK in the last few years. They are still focused on safety, comfort, and everyday use.

What is an electric bike?
An electric bike, or e-bike, is a standard bicycle fitted with a battery-powered motor that provides extra assistance. The motor can engage when you pedal or, in some cases, through a throttle. This added support makes climbing hills, covering longer distances, and tackling rough ground much easier without leaving you overly tired.
These bikes are often called pedelecs and give the same feel as traditional cycling but with added benefits. They are a healthier, more environmentally friendly, and convenient way to travel, opening cycling up to a wider range of people.
How do electric bikes work?
E-bikes function with three key components: a motor, a battery, and a sensor. Together, these parts enhance pedalling power and create a smoother ride.
When you begin pedalling, the sensor detects your effort and signals the motor to activate, helping to propel the wheels and ease your ride. The battery provides the power supply, while the bike’s display shows battery level, speed, and allows you to adjust assistance levels. The system works in harmony to deliver a comfortable and efficient cycling experience.
How many types of e-bike are there?
There are several types of electric bikes, each designed to suit different needs and lifestyles. Popular options include:
Cargo E-Bikes: Designed to carry heavy loads or passengers in towns and cities, offering the practicality of a small cargo vehicle with the ease of cycling.
City and Urban E-Bikes: Built for daily travel through busy areas, providing a quick, eco-friendly way to commute with minimal effort.
Fat Tyre E-Bikes: Known for stability and smooth performance, these bikes are suitable for all kinds of terrain, both on roads and off-road.
Folding E-Bikes: Compact and easy to transport, perfect for travellers or commuters who need a bike that can be stored away easily.
Hybrid E-Bikes: A blend of road and mountain bike features, offering flexibility for everyday journeys and light off-road rides.
Electric Mountain Bikes: Strong frames and powerful motors make them perfect for tackling demanding off-road trails.
Step-Through E-Bikes: Designed with an easy-access frame, making mounting and dismounting effortless while maintaining a classic appearance.
Are e-bikes legal in the UK?
Yes. Electrically assisted pedal cycles, often called EAPCs, are fitted with motors but are legally distinct from motorbikes. UK law allows anyone over the age of 14 to ride them. By regulation, the motor cannot exceed 250 watts and assistance must stop once the bike reaches 15.5 miles per hour for it to qualify as an EAPC.
EAPCs do not require a licence, insurance, MOT, or road tax. They can be used anywhere that normal bicycles are permitted.
Are e-bikes still legal if they have a throttle?
Yes. Throttles are allowed in the UK but with limits. They can operate the bike without pedalling up to 6 kilometres per hour, or about 3.7 miles per hour. This is typically used as a walk-assist function. To go faster, you must pedal, and the throttle can then provide support up to 15.5 miles per hour.
Can I ride an e-Bike in the rain?
All electric bikes are built with water resistance in mind, so they can be ridden comfortably in wet weather and through puddles.
That said, it is best to check the manufacturer’s specific guidance on water protection. Avoid using power washers when cleaning your bike, as high-pressure water can damage components.
For detailed information on water resistance ratings, check the IP rating listed in the product specifications or contact the retailer directly.
What size e-Bike should I get?
The best way to choose the right size is to check the size guide provided on the product page, as it contains the most accurate information for each model. If the product page does not include a guide, you can use the general size guide as a reference Size Guide
What is the warranty on Pedal Go e-Bikes?
Warranty terms can vary depending on the brand and model. Generally, e-Bikes come with a manufacturer's warranty covering the frame, motor, and battery for a specified period. All e-Bikes we sell have at least 1 year warranty. Any further details on particular product you are interested in, feel free to email us at support@pedalgo.co.uk or alternatively you can us our live chat message to find out anymore details.
How long does delivery take?
Most e-Bike models are delivered within 3 to 5 working days from the time payment is taken. However, some models may take longer depending on their supplier location, stock availability, or any backlogs. If your order is expected to take longer than usual, we will notify you and provide an estimated delivery timeframe. You will also receive tracking details once your order has been dispatched.
What happens if I run out of charge? Can I still ride without the battery
Yes. E-bikes can still be used even if the battery runs out, functioning much like a standard bicycle. The motor and battery add some extra weight, which can make pedalling a little heavier, but the ride will still be smooth and manageable without assistance.
